ladies wellington boots – Safety equipment in the workplace

Nothing should be more important to a company than to ensure their workers are working in a safe environment. Although more suitable for some businesses than others, safety equipment is a must have.

Building sites are the places where the most safety equipment can be found with good reason due to the dangerous environment workers operate in. Safety goggles, steel-toed ladies wellington boots (ladies wellington boots and not shoes as ladies wellington boots offer more support for the ankles and moving around on uneven ground as building sites often are having support is vital) and helmets are the essentials but there are other items that are found there.

Hearing protection is required if workers operate or work close to loud machinery as well as gloves. A waterproof jacket and trousers may also be supplied by some companies but others the employee themselves have to buy them.

On 6th April 2009, a new law was brought in saying that all employers must have the new Health and Safety Poster viewable for all employees. This is a new and improved version and the hope is that it will give all employers as well as employees’ important and useful information about health and safety they probably didn’t know before.

This poster is available in many shops as well as online stores; you can also find all the safety equipment you need at these online stores which make it easier to purchase everything in one go. It is important not to forget anything as you would not want anything to happen to a member of your workforce that could lead to a serious injury or worse.

Safety and signs an essential item in all businesses whatever the type of company you run. The safety of the employees is paramount and as such, providing them with detailed health and safety regulations will reduce the chance of an accident in the workplace. There are other things an employer could do such as buy protective wire cases for any wires that stick out, this would reduce the chance of electrocution to a minimum.

Try and ensure the surroundings of the building are also safe, these include the pathways towards your office which customers, clients and employees must walk down as well as the stairs leading up the office.
