@isabellehebert oh, yeah, it wasn’t pleasant. one girl vomited during the class, she ran out and you could hear her throwing up.

    @handelsme
You breathe through the lower part of your stomach and then contract the muslcle, just as if you were getting a punch.

Hi all. So I went to a Bikram Yoga class for my first time the other day and I really enjoyed it but some exercises were not explained? Like the breathing at the end? what exactly are you doing? I do Pranayama breathing and what my instructor was doing was different.

I love bikram yoga! My brain hates going to class but my body is addicted to the natural high!

For me personally, bikram yoga is getting harder and harder the more I go. I am hoping and assuming it is because I am going deeper and releasing stuff in my emotional, astral, and physical body. I am not giving up though even though I am laying down absolutely exhausted through the entire class.

they actually recommended it daily, and the way my membership worked was i pay for a month and i can attend as much as i can to make the moneys worth, not pay for each visit individually which would be better but they don’t have that option.

The farting sound could be due to the fact that your whole body is sweating. When you rock back and fourth and your lower back is sweating you may hear that sound but most of the time its not a real fart. Unless you haven’t used the bathroom before a session then there is a problem.

also the instructors say a lot of stuff which makes no sense for some poses, like this one is pumping new fresh blood into your brain….or this pose is releasing calcium and potassium in your intestines…..or this pose is going to make you more fertile…gimme a break, have you ever taken an anatomy class or know how circulation works….

  • id0stuff May 4th, 2010 at 10:09 am #15

I did it for 3 months, 2-5 time’s a day, it’s very stress relieving, you feel energized after, however I noticed very little difference in my flexibility, girls seem to have no trouble with most poses but the guys suffer, I stopped going cause it was too expensive but would recommend it for someone who can. One thing I did like was the torturous heat, and my instructor telling me to go “stronger, harder, faster, *moan**moan*” into the poses.

Wildly intense, I have never sweat so much in my life! Can only afford 2 days a week but I am excited about the benefits. A bit concerned about the dangers but so far so good.

My friend and I did this today for the first time. We wanted to die, scream and pass out just to quit and be justified. IT WAS AMAZING. She started to cry afterward just because it was such an invigorating experience. I almost had an orgasm! It made me so horny I almost couldn’t take it. I’ll def. be going back to get my ass kicked again.

  • bintbeled May 4th, 2010 at 12:42 pm #20

More strength, flexibility, and a LOT of toning.

  • jtcber May 4th, 2010 at 12:51 pm #21

What changes have you noticed? I can only go twice a week due to schedule and location.

  • Japandriftingstrong May 4th, 2010 at 1:13 pm #22

i did bikram yoga and a lot of the girls in the class were farting during the class. place smelled like shit. i walked out.

  • cazm94 May 4th, 2010 at 2:12 pm #23

I started only a few days ago but so far I love it…I recommend it for dancers…it really helps with flexibility and balance which i have found only after a few days! i’ll be making bikram yoga part of my routine!

I have to admit though, I am already quite flexible due to dancing so I didn’t find it too strenuous so I might have a biased opinion.

  • bottle2lip May 4th, 2010 at 2:42 pm #24

its not that bad..but i almost passed out twice in about 18 sessions so far. The room temp was about 105-108..depends on the instructor.

its damn tuff though i gotta admit, Im surprised i have kept up..its quite addicting. Although, i kinda of wish there was more variety in the poses. the same 26 get a lil old..and Im just a newbie.
