Swastika is not a Hindu symbol. It is an Aryan symbol. Atleast half the Indians are of Aryan descent.

The word swastika is derived from the Sanskrit word svastika (in Devanagari ????????), meaning any lucky or auspicious object, and in particular a mark made on persons and things to denote good luck. It is composed of su- meaning “good, well”? and asti “to be” svasti thus means “well-being.” svastika might thus be translated literally as “that which is associated with well-being,” corresponding to “lucky charm” or “thing that is auspicious

The swastika (from Sanskrit svástika ????????) is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles, in either right-facing (?) form or its mirrored left-facing (?) form. Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates from the Neolithic period. It occurs mainly in the modern day? culture of India, sometimes as a geometrical motif and sometimes as a religious symbol. It remains widely used in Eastern religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.
